Minor Grade Wrap - Round 8, 2018

It was mixed results in the minor grades for Subiaco in Round Eight of the 2018 WAFL season with the Reserves having a solid win and the Colts suffering a second consecutive heartbreaking loss.

 

In the Reserves after a tight match in wet conditions, Subiaco finally broke the game late, recording a 33 point win, while in a low scoring Colts match, the young Lions suffered a six point loss.

Subiaco Defeat Perth by 40 Points in Wet Round Eight Battle

After a sloppy first three quarters, Subiaco finally found the offensive rhythm that has defined their 2018 season so far, winning a tough battle with Perth by 40 points in wet conditions at Lathlain on Saturday.

 

After struggling for momentum for most of the Round Eight clash with Perth, Subiaco found an extra gear when it mattered most in the last quarter kicking seven goals to two running away to their seventh straight win to start 2018.

Road Warrior Lions face another away battle with Perth at Lathlain

Lawrence Set to Debut for Subiaco Against Perth

Subiaco’s McKenzie Lawrence is set to make his WAFL league debut in tomorrow’s Round Eight clash against Perth.

 

The 20-year old midfielder from local Subiaco District club Warwick-Greenwood has been a strong performer in the Subiaco Reserves over the past 18 months with his selection a reward for consistent performance during that time.

Reserves Record Win while Colts Lose Close One in Mandurah

Subiaco’s Reserves side moved into the top five after accounting for Peel in their clash on Saturday, while the Subiaco Colts dropped a nailbiter in the early fixture to commence Round 7 of the 2018 WAFL season.

 

For the Reserves it was an important bounceback to form after a disappointing loss to West Perth in their last outing, holding a second half lead throughout on route to a 25 point win.
