Monday, January 7, 2019 - 11:53 AM

The Subiaco Football Club Women's team are delighted to announce that respected coach Simon Webb has been appointed as the new League Coach for 2019.

Simon has had previous involvement with the club as an assistant coach, and was highly respected amongst the women's team after building strong relationships within the group during the 2018 season.

Simon's appointment is supported with Subiaco Reserves Assistant Coach Martine Pearman overseeing the Subiaco Women coaches as the Female Director of Coaching.

Meanwhile the Subiaco Women Reserves team will be coached by Paul McKenner and the Rogers Cup team by Pia Faletti.

McKenner is another to have a strong involvement with the club and has shown a strong ability to build relationships with the women's playing group.

Faletti is one of the most highly regarded female coaches, after strong coaching performances within the junior female system.

With the club continuing to put focus into the female devleopment pathway, the appointment of Faletti is a crucial one in ensuring there is a strong pathway for young girls within the Subiaco district.

The Subiaco Football club congratulates Simon, Paul and Pia on their appointments and looks forward to another strong 2019 season from its Women's teams.

The club will call upon the guidance and expertise of highly experienced coach Martine Pearman to oversee a new look professional program, as Director of Coaching.

“Martine is one of, if not the most, successful female coaches in WA. She is highly regarded throughout both womens and mens football circles, and her experience across the WAFL, WAWFL and AFLW competitions is second to none. We are excited about having her on board in an official capacity for the upcoming season, especially the professional program she has planned with our coaches. Our cohesive coaching group will benefit greatly from her guidance, and I look forward to seeing them all work together to implement our 2019 program.

Martine’s willingness to impart her knowledge and experience by mentoring our coaches is testament to her dedication to not only the Subiaco Football Club, but also her ongoing commitment to developing and improving female footballers in our state”
