20 Facts for WAFL GF #132

With WAFL Grand Final 132 vs Peel Thunder fast approaching we decided to put together a host of facts from the 2016 season.
It's been an incredible year for Subiaco and we've been able to narrate our journey with 20 fun facts as the Lions head into their 26th Grand Final in club history. Enjoy. 
#1 Up to 10 Subiaco players could play in their first WAFL Grand Final on Sunday.
#2 It will be the second time Subi have faced an AFL-aligned team in the WAFL Grand Final. (East Perth 2014 & Peel Thunder 2016).
#3 It’s the third consecutive WAFL Grand Final for Subiaco. Twice in a decade.
#4 Subiaco skipper Kyal Horsley and Greg Broughton can win their fourth WAFL premierships on Sunday. The club record holder is Darren Rumble with six.
#5 Subiaco had three players in the top five for inside 50’s in 2016. Leigh Kitchin 96, Chris Phelan 90 and Kyal Horsley 88 are generals when it comes to forward entries.

Chris Phelan finished another terrific season with 493 disposals 
#15 Number fifteen Chris Phelan led the Lions in disposals this year with 493 from 20 games. He also polled 27 votes at the Sandover Medal. 
#16 Subiaco have won 16 of the last 21 encounters against Peel Thunder.
#17 The amount of WAFL Finals/Grand Finals veteran Wayde Twomey has played in.
#18 the amount of goals Subiaco utility Clancy Wheeler kicked in 2016.
#19 the amount of votes Liam Ryan received at the Sandover Medal after a breakout debut season. Ryan kicked 39 goals from 15 games.
