SFC 2016: Preview Round Seven
- Thursday, 28 April 2016
The WAFL’s two un-beaten sides will play for the right to be on top of the ladder with South Fremantle narrowly holding a better percentage.
The league juggernauts have had compelling battles in the past, but the un-blemished records make this Round Seven fixture stand out.
Subi are coming off a bye and will be well rested from the break. The Lions are managing a host of minor injuries but will only be missing Scott Hancock (season) for the clash.
Small defender Hayden Kennedy is a possible inclusion after avoiding any significant damage to his kicking foot against Perth. Kennedy is a key part of the Lions back line machine and will be handy against the Bulldogs #1 ranked offense.
The Bulldogs forward line has been the focal point this season with the Ben Saunders and Mason Shaw combo proving dominant. Subiaco have the 2nd stingiest defence in the league this year and will be hoping to ice the Dogs’ forwards’ hot form.
Subiaco vice-captain Leigh Kitchin will battle against former Frankston teammate Shane Hockey on the ball on Saturday. Kitchin is looking forward to the challenge of lining up against his old friend and both have been key contributors to their sides’ blistering starts in 2016. Subi utility Lachlan Delahunty and West Perth’s Michael Lourey also hail from the Frankston Dolphins in the VFL.
