Fun for the whole Family

Subiaco’s Family Fun Day was a resounding success with over 2500 attending Medibank Stadium on Saturday.

The game-day event was a coordinated effort with the Subiaco Lions District who encouraged the attendance of the extended community.

With good vibes and good numbers showing at Medibank Stadiuml; Marketing Manager Travis Kalin believes the club’s relationship with the community can only get stronger.

“The day went really well and it’s always good to engage with the local community considering we are a community minded organization,

“It’s good to reach out, not only the grassroots football clubs, but the greater community. It was great way to engage with everyone and see so many people at the footy,

“This year we went bigger than year’s past. Previously it was a smaller kids fun day but this year we decided to expand the initiative.

“It’s now more of a family day and the Subiaco District continue to be a big contributor in the progress of the event.” Said Kalin

With Subi looking to encourage everyone to attend game-days Kalin hopes “Family Fun Day” will become a calendar event.

“We would definitely look to do it again and we want to make it a big annual event,

“It will hopefully become a staple WAFL event a like Good Friday, Anzac Day or West Perth’s “International Round” and hopefully people pencil it in their calendars because it provides a perfect opportunity for all the families and clubs to come together.” Said Kalin

Kalin states that the Subiaco Football Club will continue to put extended effort into the Family Fun Day and thanked the involvement of the WAFC, WCE, QBE and Perth Glory.

“We wanted to reward the junior clubs and invite them to enjoy a game day. The goal was to host a good family day event that had something for the kids and adults.”
“We had a range of activities and had a lot of success with our AFL double pass prize colouring competition with over 150 entrants received,

“There was a kids zone on the southern end and we coordinated and credit goes to the West Australian Football Commission, West Coast Eagles, QBE and Perth Glory who helped us with promotional items that brought a professional, festive atmosphere to the day.” Added Kalin
