Subi alumni Ross Smith and Mike Fitzpatrick were in attendance to witness Robertson Jr join the upper echelon of football as Subiaco continues to represent strongly in every facet of football.
Robertson Jr was somewhat belatedly inducted into the Hall of Fame after kicking 1271 goals from 269 games for Subiaco and South Melbourne over a 12-year career and leaves his legacy as one of the best goal-kickers to play the game.
Mike Fitzpatrick also played in Subiaco’s monumental 1973 premiership to quash a 49-year drought. Fitzpatrick went on to play 150 games for Carlton and represented Western Australia eleven times. The Subi legend currently serves the AFL Chairman and has been an AFL commissioner since 2003.
Ross Smith was best on ground in the 1973 triumph over West Perth and played 39 games for Subiaco between stints at St Kilda. Smith was a gutsy rover who won a Brownlow medal in 1967 during his hay days at the Saints. Smith was also inducted into the St Kilda Hall of Fame in 2003.
Medibank Stadium enjoyed a visit from West Coast spear-head Josh Kennedy as he participated in the 7-Eleven Slurpee Australia shoot-out. Subi youngsters Greg Clark and Ryan Borchet took on the AFL superstar with the full piece on FOOTY WA (9) this Sunday at 11am.
Subiaco hosted the July holiday clinic at Kingsley Reserve on Wednesday and enjoyed the attendance of over 150+ young footballers. Subi District Manager Rohan Blee was pleased with the turnout and believed the re-structured clinic system catered for every skill level. Check out the photos from the July 15th clinic here!
