Lions Buzz: Round Nine

The Lions faced Swan Districts on Members Appreciation Day and gave their fans something to cheer about with a 42 point win.

Weather condiitons were atrocious at Medibank Stadium but the Lions managed to generate a landslide of scoring chances. This resulted in a landslide on the score board as well with Subi breaking two games away on top of the WAFL ladder.

Midfielder Leigh Kitchin was outstanding for the Lions with 31 touches, nine marks and three inside 50's. Kitchin is 10th in the WAFL in disposals averaging 23.75 touches a game in the first eight rounds.

Chris Phelan gathered 29 disposals, Brett Robinson 24 disposals and Scott Hancock 22 disposals in a dominant day for the Lions midfield.

Chris Deluca was Subiaco's most prolific forward in the wet with three goals. Deluca is back to full health and will be looking to return to his 2014 premiership form.

It wasn't all good news in the 42 point win however; with the Lions now focusing on the state week break to manage a growing injury list. Kyal Horsley, Sam Menegola, Matt Boland, Frank Stockley, Scott Worthington were joined by Brad Stevenson amongst the wounded with a suspected right knee injury against the Swans.

Twitter was a buzz with conversation as the 2015 WAFL season starts to heat up.
