Lions Buzz: Round Five
Monday, 20 April 2015
Subiaco had a few questions to answer in the build up to South Fremantle; and most were answered as the Lions charged away to an 89 point win.
The game was evenly poised between the table-topping sides before Subi broke away in the second, kicking 20 goals to six over the next three quarters.
Shane Yarran made an emphatic return to the side after serving a one game suspension kicking six goals and playing parts in a handful of others. Brad Stevenson was equally dangerous, holding his role in the forward line to kick six as well.
Subiaco also coped without captain Kyal Horsley who usually provides experience and grunt to the midfield. The Lions midfield unit comprehensively outplayed South Fremantle without their Kalgoorlie captain and Brett Robinson (30 disposals & goal), Chris Phelan (30 disposals), Brett Mahoney (22 disposals) and Leigh Kitchin (21 disposals) all provided important roles.
As the Lions came to play; club journalist Michael Barr took to twitter for the Lions Buzz in Round Five.

There must have been a home ground hoodoo in the WAFL this week with every hosting team losing. It was just the 4th time that every home WAFL side had lost in the last five years and could be an indication of the competitions equality this year.
Subiaco are on top of the ladder but could face a de-throning in the bye week with a win and percentage climb from either Peel, East Fremantle or South Fremantle.
