Subi demolish Demons
- Saturday, 07 March 2015
Subiaco have continued their strong pre-season form with a 104-point win over Perth.
The Lions sported a relatively strong side featuring a host of the new recruits and established starters.
Lachlan Delahunty made a return to the side and was dominant in the forward line alongside Matt Boland and Kyle Halligan.
New recruit Brett Robinson also made his first league appearance and cut the Demons apart with his foot skills on half forward. The ex-Swan impressed with his intensity and fitness levels.
Scott Hancock looks an excellent addition to the on-ballers amongst a Subiaco midfield that overpowered Perth. Mahoney and Bogensperger also starred.
Dave Madut operated out of the number one ruck role against the Demons and developed a solid connection with the midfield group. Madut could play an important role in Subiaco’s ruck department this year.
Arguably the most important statistic out of the day was zero injuries. The Lions avoided injury in the pre-season game despite a couple of heavy knocks.
Tagging midfielder Tommy Smith clashed with Perth’s Aidan Tropiano in the second, the hit left both players on the deck and Smith was taken off for concussion precautions.
Veteran mid Chris Phelan also had a knock to the head in the last quarter but was cleared of injury.
Lachlan Delahunty made his return to the league side and starred in the forward line.
