The Subiaco Football Club embarked on a trip to Kalgoorlie this weekend for the clubs first regional carnival since 2008.
130 of Subiaco’s most talented 14’s and 15’s came together to compete in a weekend of football with five teams from the Goldfields, Esperance and WA Metro zones represented.
With a majority of our young talent in the same place at the same time, it was the perfect opportunity for the club’s players and staff to get acquainted.
“The trip was a great opportunity for kids from our various zones to come together and play football. It also gave an opportunity to a handful of our community coaching and officiating staff to further their skills at a high level.” Ben Haywood Subiaco District Manager
The carnival gave Subiaco staff a first-hand look at the regional talent pool; with several of the Goldfields/Esperance representatives likely to be refined through our development programs.
“The carnival was a great opportunity to view the most talented players from Subiaco’s country zones play against their city counterparts. The games were competitive across the board and the standard was high.” – Jeff Lind Subiaco FC PDO
The first step of introducing these regional players will commence in October, where 20 of the most talented prospects will be invited to participate in the WAFL carnival.
15s – Isaac Buckley, Dane Holdman, Jack Adams, Brayden Ainsworth, Warwick Randall, Matt Spencer, Lachlan Cruttenden, Liam O’Callaghan and Che Wyatt.
15s – Jayden Cody, Jordan Hooks, Declan Wellstead, Ryan Connor, Jayden Donaldson, Jarrod Turner, Mark Collins, Bailey Edwards, Kyle Goldsworthy, Jacob Miller and Brock Gadd
