Lions primed to burst Claremont bubble
- Thursday, 30 May 2013
Subiaco will take an air of confidence into this weekend’s clash with Claremont after the club notched up a rare treble of victories at Steel Blue Oval last Saturday.
The colts, reserves and senior sides were all on the winners list for the first time since round 15 last season.
Claremont’s barnstorming start to the 2013 continues to turn heads. The Tigers are undefeated after 9 games, a start that easily surpasses their 2011 and 2012 premiership campaigns.
The Lions will regain the services of veteran fullback Darren Rumble who has served a one-week suspension and is set to lockhorns with his old rival Claremont spearhead Chad Jones.
Jones’ form has been patchy this season averaging only 1.6 goals per game, how ever Claremont’s forward line remains as potent as ever featuring the likes of Ian Richardson, Paul Medhurst and Anton Hamp all in form.
Chris Phelan, Darren Rumble, Aidan Parker and Daniel Leishman will need to be on their game to curb Claremont’s class around goals.
