The Marc Webb coached Claremont Tigers were too good for Subiaco at Medibank Stadium on Friday night, the final margin 54 points.
Wet conditions marred the game, which saw former Subiaco team mates Webb, and Jarrad Schofield in opposing coaches boxes for the first time.
Webb’s only head ache coming in the form of injuries to key players.
Luke Blackwell limped from the field in the third quarter with a leg injury while Alex Silvagni had to be helped off during the final quarter holding his ankle.
Subiaco started strongly and through work rate were able to hold Claremont’s potent forward line to just one goal for most of the quarter.
Lions youngster Chris Deluca left the field early in the quarter with concussion and played no further part in the game.
Subiaco peppered the goals but couldn’t convert finishing the quarter with only three behinds plus two shots on goal that failed to score.
The entire Claremont side went up a gear to pile on 5 goals 2 to the Lions’ solitary point.
Chad Jones kicked two goals while Jake Murphy tallied 9 disposals for the quarter.

Rhys Waters finally got the Lions on the board with a goal in the fourth minute, but his side couldn’t gather any momentum and Claremont took a 48 point lead into half time.

Claremont extended that lead during the final quarter with goals to Hamp, Medhurst and Seaby while for the home side Ryan Herring kicked his first and Aliston Picket became Subi’s only multiple goal scorer with 2.
