Country kids continue development

SUBIACO's country underage development squad members have continued to put their names forward by dominating the polling in the Goldfield Junior Football League Fairest and Best Night.

The under 16s Fairest and Best Delegates Medal Winner was Brandon Dowrick with 31 votes, one ahead of 16s Development players Sam DeMarte and five clear of fellow squad members Anthony Champion and Zac Singh.

Dowrick is from Mines Football Club along with Champion, while DeMarte hails from Boulder and Singh (Railways).

Mines Rovers forward Paul Graham led the goal kicking with 51 majors.

In the under 14s Jacob Miller (60 votes) won by 18 votes to second placed Clifford Pearce and Darcy Stevens.

Both Pearce and Stevens are from Mines, while Miller plays for Railways.

Miller's Fairest and Best accolade was doubled with winning the goal kicking for his 50 goals.

All three of the players were a part of the 14s squad last season.

Because of their age DeMarte, Champion and Singh are now ineligible for Development Squads.

Dowrick, Miller, Pearce, Stevens will all be considered for upcoming Development Squad games to be played in October.

Subiaco's games will be played on October 1, 3, and 6.
