WESTERN Australia has named its State women’s team ahead of next month’s AFL National Championships in Perth, with a strong combination selected to try and take the title from Victoria for the first time.

Led by head coach Nicole Graves, the WA team of 27 includes a blend of youth and experience with seasoned campaigners such as Loren Fricker, Lauren Osborne and Nikki Harwood complemented by the likes of Sarah Noga, who is a talented golfer that made the State side after starring in her initial games with Coastal Titans.

Other members of the Coastal Titans who have been rewarded with their good form this season and will represent WA are: Deanne Coates, Lauren Stammers, Loren Fricker, Martine Pearman, Danielle Fagents, Tatum Gibson, Krystale Rivers, Leah Mascall, Nicole Bolton and Sarah Noga.

The AFL Women’s National Championship kicks off on June 3 with six States and Territories heading to Western Australia to compete. The event will culminate in the Division 1 Grand Final at Subiaco Oval prior to the West Coast Eagles versus Geelong game on June 7.

Games throughout the championships will be played at WAFL venues including Claremont, East Fremantle, Fremantle and Steel Blue Oval. For more information on fixtures, venues and the history of the championships visit http://www.wafootball.com.au/homepage/1101-womens-ntionals

The Subiaco District would like to congratulate all players from the Coastal Titans who will represent WA next week and wish all the players the best of luck for the upcoming carnival. The WA team and the Coastal Titans players would appreciate your support at the carnival next week.
